The boys in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes went on their school tour last Friday to Dublin. It was an early start with the bus leaving at 650 to be in Colbert station for the 755 train. We got to Dublin and walked to the Wax Museum where the boys saw many interesting characters such as Oscar Wilde, Samuel Becket, Eamon De Valera, Mary McAleese, Patrick Hillery, The Simpsons and lots lots more. After this we had the big surprise of the tour which was ‘Dublinia’ which is a viking tour. They boys loved this tour despite feeling very very tired. We then walked to St. Patricks Cathedral and had our lunch in the adjoining park and recharged our batteries. This was followed by the amazing ‘Viking Splash Tour’. This was a bus tour which also went into the grand canal. We then headed back to Heuston Station for the 6pm train. We had just enough time to have a quick ice cream stop before getting the train home. It was a long day but it was a most enjoyable day made ever more special by the co-operation of all the boys.
